Here at CYB towers, we’re a bunch of lazy so-and-sos. We’re always on the lookout for tips and tricks to make our daily lives easier – and what better place to find them than the wonderful place that is the internet?!
Of course, there is always an element of separating the wheat from the chaff, but this week we have done the legwork for you and found some awesome pro tips that will make your life just that little bit better. Enjoy!
Make your canvas shoes waterproof
Canvas shoes like Vans or Converse AllStars are a great addition to any outfit, but as the autumn draws in, it’s becoming more and more difficult to keep your feet dry in your favourite shoes.
But never fear! As this pin illustrates, it’s incredibly easy to make them waterproof. Simply rub some beeswax on them and heat up with a hairdryer so that the wax is absorbed. Once the shoes are cool, drip some water on them and watch in amazement as the water simply drips off.
Now you’ll never have soggy feet again! Hurrah!
Make your mornings more productive
According to Fast Company, the first hour of the day is the most important. It’s the time when you can see things more clearly and get one real thing done.
So how do you unlock this hour’s potential? Simple. Keep your email inbox locked until 10am. There are very few jobs that require constant email monitoring, and if something REALLY important comes up, then people can always phone you.
Instead, use that hour to do a real thing on your task list. If you can, make it the thing that you keep putting off. Think about it: if you start the day doing the thing that thing that will otherwise bug you for the rest of the day, then it will make the rest of your work day that little bit better.
Make your knives last longer
Finally, a simple “a-ha!” life hack from the people at Lifehacker: Store knives upside down in a knife block to prevent the blades from dulling. It will stop the sharp edge of the blade rubbing against the block and increase the lifespan of your knives.
It’s a simple trick, but one that will make your knives last that little bit longer.
