The crowds are lining the streets as the Queen and Prince Philip visit Exeter today as part of the Royal Diamond Jubilee celebration tour of the UK.
Events and performances have been going on since 9am to entertain the people already waiting patiently for her to arrive. We could hear the bands playing and live performances from our offices here in Exeter.
She arrived in Princesshay Square at around midday to much cheering and applause. The band played a piece of music and she then did a walkabout and some children were lucky enough to meet her and hand her some flowers. She is also due to open the University of Exeter’s new Forum development today.
The Queen last visited Exeter in 1949 when the city was being rebuilt after the World War II bombings.
Did you see the Queen in Exeter today?
