New post in our Home Décor Trend Alert series! The Navajo and Native American trend started a couple of years ago when some fashion brands decided to start using some of these patterns on their apparel. This trend has been now translated to our houses, and even some of this fashion companies have produced their own collections of Navajo items for our homes.
Although the most popular Navajo items are rugs or blankets, the patterns are currently used in a large variety of objects. We’ve selected our favourites below!
American brand Pendleton has been producing wool blankets and rugs inspired by Native American patterns for over 140 years. The company has taken advantage of the Navajo revival and has launched collaborations with brands such as Urban Outfitters and Opening Ceremony. The rugs, blankets and cushions are quite expensive but the results are amazing.
If you’re not afraid of patterns, you can decide to cover your sofa with a Navajo style fabric. We love the couch and chair in the photo below, the combination of the fabric with a light coloured wood produces a beautiful result.
But if that’s too much, you can always decide to add just some Navajo elements to your room. Online shopping platform Etsy offers amazing original art by independent artists. We really like the SchatziBrown hand printed patterns.
If get too immersed in the trend, you can also get some Navajo inspired items for your pets! Take a look at this cat tipi, awesome!
