At the beginning of March every year, Crufts comes to the NEC Birmingham for a week. This year it is on from Thursday 8th – Sunday 11th. That’s 28,000 wagging tails, 56,000 owners and all their respective vehicles and baggage!
The Kennel Club is very much focussed on canine health and this year has introduced veterinary checks for Crufts 2012 and all subsequent Kennel Club licensed General and Group Championship Shows.
This year’s show also features tales of doggie devotion in the Friends For Life competition and the Rufus Club for toddlers makes its debut appearance, showcasing the younger generation and their dogs.
It is a great family event, Kennel Club enthusiasts and dog lovers from all over the country will go year after year, perhaps treat themselves to a stay in a Birmingham hotel and attend all of the days.
The most prestigious award of the event is Best in Show, which is decided from the seven Best in Group winners. Best in Show winners receive a trophy and a cash prize of £100.
