It all starts with a viral video (doesn’t it all?) and then slowly a message comes to light and all through comfortable osmosis. The Surfing Goat, Goatee and me ticks both those boxes. In the spirit of giving and sharing, I thought that giving the cause a bit of a push would help out so read on to find out what the surfing goat is all about.
The Video
Here is the video that is sure to catch fire on the viral web when everyone returns from their festive holidays and are looking for a little more ‘smushy wooshy’ before they start the pile of work at their desk.
The Message
The video was made to prompt people to start donating so that families who rely on goats for food (like milk) can be given a goat. The site says:
“Goatee is partnering up with other organizations to raise money to buy a goat for families who really need one all over the world!
Goat’s produce two offspring each year, and plenty of milk is provided to drink and sell. It is a great way for sustainable nutrition and income. Giving a goat is a great way to share the joy of Christmas and this New Year.”
Given the fact that this video is actually trying to get people’s attention for the right reasons, it is one of the few viral videos that I actually felt hadn’t been a waste of time watching.
After feeling rather well fed after the Christmas holidays and New Years Party’s, I thought it would be nice to try and at least keep other people’s stomaches full; and why not with a great productive cause like Goatee?
