Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art based on traditions 5,000 years old. Feng Shui literally means ‘wind water’. Wind and water are two natural elements that make up nature. Wind is the breath of life while water is the liquid of life. Both are associate with good health and prosperity in Chinese lifestyle.

Pronounced ‘fung shway’, the practice believes that your surroundings have an effect on your physical and mental health. This is particularly true where we spend lots of time such as at home and the office.

The placement of objects in a room can affect your personal energy flow called Qi. Qi can influence the way you act and think which determines how successful you will be in life. Each room has its own energy. Simple things like positioning your furniture in your home can release and create a flow of positive energy to circulate throughout your home.

It’s more than just where you place your furniture. The décor, lighting and the colours are all important too. Practicing good karma is also advised. Letting go of anger and resentment will help you to release negative energy.

It’s not a magic wand to make things instantly better, but it is something everyone can try by making small adjustments.
